History was made on Tuesday as Nigeria’s very own illustrious son in Canada Kaycee Madu becomes the first Nigerian-born individual to be appointed Minister of Justice in a Canadian government.
He is also the Provincial Secretary and Keeper of the Great Seal of the Province of Alberta.
President Muhammadu Buhari who spoke through his spokesperson Femi Adesina in a statement described the honor as “landmark and historic,”
The President added that, as the first Black Justice Minister and Solicitor-General in Canada, Madu has written himself into history books, and urges Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to remain good ambassadors of their country.
Saying it once again pedestals people of Nigerian descent as go-getters, who distinguish themselves in different walks of life.
Madu while responding to all the congratulatory messages he has received, took to his official twitter handle to show his appreciation.
