The chairman house committee on public procurement in the house if representatives Rt. Hon Unyime idem has perform another batch of empowerment to over 200 members of his constituents.
Hon Idem who is representing Ukanafun/ OruK Anam federal constituency yesterday posted on his Facebook page that over 200 beneficiaries, which are of the mid-year batch of his scheme, were trained in tailoring, hair-making, barbing, entrepreneurship, among other skills.
‘I was represented at the graduation ceremony, which took place at the Unyime Idem Skills Acquisition and empowerment centre, 3 Barracks Road, beside Divisional Police Station, Ukanafun local government area, by my Special Assistant on Constituency Affairs, Mr. Ediong Charles Essien.
I charged the beneficiaries to deploy the tools judiciously so they can serve the purpose for which they are meant for.
The gesture is to help them become self-reliant, then train others who are willing to learn too. I also reminded them of Proverbs 22:29, which says “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” I therefore admonished them to strive to be the very best in their respective fields.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be trained and empowered, and promised to make judicious use of the skills acquired and tools received.
Other sets of trainees are expected to graduate and get their start-up tools before the end of the year’
