The Imo State Government has refuted claims circulating on social media about the resignation of Charles Orie, the Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC).
According to a statement from Declan Emelumba, Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy, the rumors are false.
Emelumba clarified that Orie’s term as MD had expired and was not renewed by Governor Hope Uzodinma. Consequently, Orie could not have resigned from a position that no longer existed.
The government has no issues with Orie and issued the statement to correct misinformation.
