Cleric raises alarm over deplorable condition of airport road, beg Gov. Oborevwori for urgent intervention.

A Christian cleric in Effurun, Prophet Austin Ariole, has raised serious concerns about the deteriorating condition of the Airport road and Praise Centre road in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. Ariole, who is the General Overseer of Goshen Freedom Tabernacle, highlighted the abandoned state of the Airport road project, which began with significant drainage work but has since stalled.

He pointed out that only one kilometer of the road has been completed, with reports suggesting that the project was left unfinished because it wasn’t fully captured in the contract. The cleric emphasized that the road was funded by taxpayers’ money and urged that it be completed, particularly to avoid the potential disaster that could arise during the upcoming rainy season.

Ariole called on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to take immediate action and ensure that the contractor returns to complete the roadworks, extending the project from where it was halted to Sokoh Estate. He also expressed concern about similar unfinished projects, such as those linking Sokoh Estate to Japka Road, which also began with drainage work but were left incomplete.

The cleric urged the governor to address the situation, warning that such unfinished projects could tarnish the governor’s reputation and negatively affect the residents of Delta State.
