Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party congress for local government areas in Akwa Ibom state, youths wing of the party in Abak LGA has called on the stakeholders of the party to settled for the choice of a former leader of Abak legislative council Hon. Kokoette Inyang as the next chapter chairman.
The group, operating under the aegis of PDP Youth Movement, explained that PDP Abak chapter having zone the position of chapter chairman to Otoro clan should select a faithful and committed party man who in thick and thin always deliver the party in his unit and ward respectively.
In a statement, the group which insisted that PDP urgently needs leadership that will address internal issues and unite its members in Abak LGA, noted that the former leader of council Hon. Kokoette Inyang is not only the best fit for the job but also a leader who can strategize that will enable the party’s victory in the future election.
We have confidence on the capability of Hon Kokoette Inyang to deliver from unit,ward and Abak local government elections respectively just like the just concluded election which produces Gov Umoh Eno in 2023.
The statement was signed by the group’s acting ward coordinators and chapter executives of the party’s youths wing.
According to them, the rumor of micro zoning of chapter chairman does not exist in the constitution of the party, except stakeholders of the party chose to come on a round table to decide on consensus candidate, anything outside these let all the aspirants go to the poll and test their popularity.
The group while commending the leadership and landmarks achievements of His excellency Governor Umoh Eno, especially for being unbiased in the selection of leaders in various local government areas in Akwa Ibom, also called on the state chairman of the party Elder Aniekan Akpan to follow the footprint of the governor not allowing the influence of any politician to impose candidate on the party at the chapter level.
PYM also assure the party that with the choice of the former leader of Abak legislative council Rt. Hon Kokoette Inyang Abak LGA will stand to record landslide victory in future elections.
