There was some tension during the Senate plenary session between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele regarding the timing of a recess.
Akpabio wanted to take a break immediately, but Bamidele preferred to continue with the next agenda item. This disagreement led to Akpabio calling for a vote, which resulted in favor of taking an immediate recess.
When Bamidele still didn’t propose the motion for recess, Akpabio then asked another senator, Senator Muhammed Tahir Monguno, to do so instead.
