On Monday, operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigeria Police took control of the Lagos State House of Assembly in Alausa, Ikeja, to ensure security.
Speaker Mojisola Meranda arrived around 12 PM with her convoy, and the House proceeded with a plenary session.
During the session, lawmakers showed their support for her leadership. The former Speaker, Obasa, had been impeached by 32 of the 40 members of the house on January 13, 2025, while he was in the United States.
