The PDP has raised concerns about the alleged illegal arrest of its members by the Nigeria Police. Asue Ighodalo, the PDP’s governorship candidate for the September 21, 2024 election in Edo State, has claimed that party chieftains such as Mr. Amos Tom and Kingsley Osahon have been detained, with others reportedly missing.
The PDP has accused the police of using fake court warrants and targeting party members to undermine their campaign efforts.
They have urged the Inspector General of Police and other authorities to intervene and prevent further harassment. The Edo State Police Command has yet to respond officially to these allegations.
