The Nigeria Police have urged residents of Edo State to cast their votes in the upcoming governorship election and then return home. Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Frank Mbah, emphasized that only accredited individuals should remain on the streets during the election. He announced a restriction on vehicular movements from 6 AM to 6 PM to ensure security.
Mbah noted that many sympathizers from other states are in Edo due to the off-cycle nature of the election, which presents unique challenges. The police are committed to providing security for all involved, including journalists and observers, while reminding citizens to complete their voting and return home promptly.
