Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umaru Faruq Bahago, deny reports urging President Tinubu to investigate past administrations.

The Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umaru Faruq Bahago, has denied reports claiming he urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to investigate past administrations. In a statement from his Secretary, Alhaji Garba Kuta, the Emir clarified that these remarks were made by a turbaned chief, Malam Musa Maikudi, who was misquoted during a citizen sensitization event.

Bahago emphasized his neutrality in political matters, stating that as a traditional ruler, he represents all citizens and does not align with any political faction. He expressed support for Tinubu’s administration and encouraged efforts to recover looted funds and improve the economy. The Emir also commended local efforts against banditry and praised the governor for developmental initiatives in the state.
