Bolaji Abdullahi, the former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State. His resignation was communicated through a letter addressed to the chairman of the PDP in his Ubandawaki Ward of Ilorin West local government area.
In his resignation letter, Abdullahi explained that after careful reflection, he concluded that leaving the PDP was the best option for him at this time. He also expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the opportunities he had to serve both the state and the country.
Mas’ud Adebimpe, a former Chief Press Secretary to ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki and close associate of Abdullahi, confirmed the resignation in Ilorin.
The PDP’s state Publicity Secretary, Olusola Adewara, responded to Abdullahi’s resignation by stating that it was a personal decision. Adewara noted that Abdullahi did not indicate any grievances with the party or its leaders, and emphasized that the PDP respected his choice and wished him well in his future endeavors.
