The Nigerian government through the minister of state for education Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has disclosed that the registration for the National Examination Council (NECO) will continue running while students write sit for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams.
Nwajiuba made this known at a media briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 in Abuja on Monday, August 3.
“Once the WAEC examination starts on August 17, it will run till the middle of September, and NABTEB will start immediately and run till October,” Nwajiuba said.
“NECO examination will start on October 10, about a week to the end of NABTEB, and run through to November.”
According to the minister, the NECO and NABTEB registrations will be ongoing as WAEC conducts its exams.
“Right now, we are lifting the registration for NABTEB and NECO, this means that the registrations for NABTEB will also continue along with that of NECO continuously running, even while we are about to begin WAEC,” he said.
Nwajiuba maintained that the resumption of schools is presently for students in graduating classes.
