Residents of Madagali in Adamawa State are urgently calling for federal intervention after the collapse of the town’s bridge on August 15.
Heavy rains caused the Madagali River to overflow, leading to the bridge’s failure. This disruption has forced people to manually transport goods across the river, increasing costs and hardships for local traders.
The North East Development Commission (NEDC) visited the site and assured residents that reconstruction efforts would commence soon. NEDC’s Managing Director, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, confirmed that President Bola Tinubu has authorized the repairs.
