Former NBA chairman Agbakoba called for FRNGS.

Olisa Agbakoba, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, has called for a fundamental reevaluation of Nigeria’s governance structure.

He argues that the current centralized system, with excessive power concentrated in Abuja, has proven ineffective and has stifled regional and state development.

Agbakoba advocates for a decentralized approach, where governors have more authority and local communities are more involved in decision-making.

He emphasizes the need for constitutional reform to redistribute power and drive development, drawing a parallel to Roman Emperor Diocletian’s successful decentralization strategy in the 4th century. According to Agbakoba, such reforms are crucial for enabling political and economic progress in Nigeria.
