Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged church leaders in Rivers State to prevent the use of pulpits for personal attacks or divisive rhetoric. He emphasized that the pulpit should serve as a platform for promoting peace, unity, and progress within the state.

Speaking at the Inter-denominational Thanksgiving Service for the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Port Harcourt, the governor stressed that church leaders must take action if speakers deviate from constructive messages, ensuring that the sanctity of the pulpit and the House of God is upheld. Fubara called for a collective effort to discourage divisive or abusive speech, including by himself, and to focus on messages that foster unity among the people.
