Gov. Sanwo-Olu reopen rehabilitate odo iya bridge warn against vandalism.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has officially reopened the rehabilitated Odo Iya Alaro Bridge, marking a significant improvement in local traffic conditions. The bridge, which underwent a 54-day renovation—faster than the initially planned 90 days—now features new expansion joints and remedial works.

Represented by his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of maintaining the infrastructure and warned against vandalism. He specifically cautioned against the theft of newly installed fibre manhole covers, which are designed to be less valuable to thieves. The governor underscored that removing these covers, intended to ensure public safety, could result in legal action.

Sanwo-Olu praised the various stakeholders, including the Office of Works, the Ministry of Transportation, and LASTMA, for their contributions to the project’s early completion.
