The Jigawa State Government is encouraging youth to spearhead environmental preservation through tree-planting initiatives.
During the launch of a tree-planting campaign supported by UNICEF in Suletankarkar Local Government, Dr. Nura Ibrahim, State Commissioner of the Ministry of Environment, emphasized the goal of planting 1,500 trees in northern Jigawa to mitigate deforestation effects.
He urged residents to avoid tree-cutting practices, which contribute to environmental degradation. Dr. Uba Lawal from UNICEF highlighted the significant role of youth in driving positive change, underscoring their energy, creativity, and passion for shaping a sustainable future.
