I am not afraid of EFCC – Gov. Obaseki.

By Divine Sam

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State recently raised concerns about political harassment, alleging that some politicians may be planning to use the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to target him after his tenure ends. He made these comments in response to rumors suggesting that the EFCC could arrest him once he leaves office.

Obaseki expressed confidence, saying he had no fear of any potential investigation, emphasizing that the actions taken against him would be beyond his control. He framed the potential use of the EFCC as part of a broader political agenda aimed at undermining him, describing it as a “political witch-hunt.”

His statement suggests that he anticipates further attempts to tarnish his reputation or harm his legacy after his tenure, which ends soon. However, he remained resolute, indicating that any such actions would be the responsibility of those pursuing them, not his.
