Ahead of the Imo State local government elections on September 21, 2024, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has called for public civility and warned against any actions that could disrupt the electoral process.

To ensure a smooth voting experience, there will be a restriction on vehicular movement from midnight to 6 PM on election day, allowing only essential services to operate. The police have implemented comprehensive security measures across all 27 Local Government Areas to promote a credible and safe election.

The CP urged political actors to comply with the regulations set by the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) and warned that armed security personnel are not permitted at polling units to maintain fairness.
