The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a strong warning to Igbo politicians to refrain from exploiting the detention of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, for personal political gain.
IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, criticized these politicians for merely engaging in rhetoric rather than taking substantive action for Kanu’s release. He emphasized that Kanu’s detention is not related to Nigerian politics but to the broader goal of Biafran independence.
IPOB commended the Igbo community for not participating in recent protests, highlighting the potential dangers such actions could pose. The group urged politicians to stop using Kanu’s plight for their own interests, warning of public backlash and political consequences if they persist.
