Jigawa State Chief Judge, Justice Umar M. Sadiq, has inaugurated the local government elections petition and appeal tribunal. This tribunal will address cases filed by aggrieved parties following the local government elections.
Justice Sadiq emphasized the importance of integrity, urging members to avoid corruption and abuse of office, and to adhere to their oath of allegiance throughout their duties.
The tribunal is composed of experienced professionals selected for their merit. Justice Musa Ubale will chair the Election Appeal Tribunal, supported by Justices Hussaina Adamu Aliyu and Muhammad Musa Kaugama.
Barrister Auwal Sani leads the Election Tribunal for Jigawa Central, with Barristers Nuhu Suleiman Tafida and Abdullahi Ibrahim Aliyu as members. Barrister Sa’adan Muhammad Habeeb chairs the tribunal in Jigawa North East, alongside Barristers Sadiya Sale and Bashir Adamu. Lastly, Barrister Kabiru Abubakar Gumel heads the tribunal in Jigawa North West, supported by Barristers Fatima Muhammad Tahir and Aliyu Abdullahi.
Justice Umar urged the tribunals to perform their duties impartially and without fear or favor.
