The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ordered a fresh hearing in the legal dispute over the Kano Emirate, involving Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero.
The court ruled that Bayero was denied a fair hearing due to the improper proceedings conducted by the Kano High Court.
Justice Mohammed Mustapha, delivering the judgment, stated that Bayero was not served a hearing notice, preventing him from presenting his case.
The court described the actions of the Kano High Court as a travesty of justice and instructed that the case be reassigned to a different judge for a prompt hearing. No costs were awarded against the respondents in the appeal.
