Newsie Events Media: #Opinion
I have been wondering and thinking, how did Abia State get to where it was now?. How did we get to this point?. When other states are witnessing real development and tangible advancement, we are backward…How can we still be talking about worker’s salaries not being paid and the rest?
Aba is still regarded as one of the dirtiest city in the Southeast. I remembered watching a small clip video that someone posted online sometime last year where they were mocking the current government headed by Governor Victor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The video showed some Streets in ABA covered with water with out good drainage system and people were seen in the video walking through the water and one of them asked a question and said” I thought that we should vote for nwa ABA ( someone born in ABA) that it’s only nwa ABA that will build ABA.
When you visit ABA especially during the rainy season you will regret being referred to as nwa ABA ( Aba born). You will begin to wonder why Aba is so dirty and unkempt? Even when two governors, the former and the current one are known as nwa Aba, yet there was no exceptional thing they did to change the face and status of Aba, Enyimba city.
Recently, I listened to an interview which featured Prince Paul Ikonne, where he asked a question ” Does ABA belong to an individual? My answer to that question is capital (No!), Aba belongs to no one, not to a family or group of people who try to play God in the state. Also, I want to make it clear here that, Abia State does not belong to anyone.
Furthermore, Prince Paul Ikonne during the interview challenged anyone who can show him one legacy that the former governor Orji Uzor Kalu left ( apart from the worst government of T A Orji).
Prince Ikonne queried” Show me one legacy Orji Uzor Kalu left in his 8 years as a governor?”. He equally said” Orji Uzor kalu is not working for anybody, but himself and himself alone”
Selfishness!…..Abia State does not belong to people with the same interest of looting the state’s treasury and handing over power to their puppet or family member who will come with the same intention of looting the state dry. After Orji Uzor Kalu’s wasteful 8 years, came T A Orji who looted Abia state by putting blame on the previous government before him, and has absolutely nothing to show for his own 8years than making his children wealthy and still keeps them in the corridors of power in Abia State.
Meanwhile, our current governor, Okezie Ikpeazu who is a product of T A Orji, is suffering from what I call “the hangover effects of the previous government’s mismanagement of Abia’s resources or rather, a hangover effect of a real hangover.” Only time will tell for us all to understand what he’ssuffering from.
If you are from Abia State please know that we are in a serious trouble and unless something serious and urgent is done, our desire of moving forward as a state is not possible.
As God’s own State we need a Messiah, someone who can rescue us from the hand of evil political gladiators, occupying our political space.
Abians need a male or female who will liberate us from the shackles of bad governance. Someone with the pedigree and leadership know how, someone who knows what ruling a State is all about. We need someone who will see politics as an opportunity to serve, a servant leader that will carry every part of the state along. 2023 is around the corner we should start making plans now!
The sure way we can flush out all the evil leaders whose only plan and thinking are centred on how they can loot our collective resources in Abia State, is for quality and qualified potential leaders to come on board. Abia State have men and women of repute. We have them and we want them to start coming out from wherever they are and take over the political space of the state. Enough is enough.!! You better come out and occupy your space because history will blame you for not doing what you are supposed to do. Let us wake up! Let us join hands and liberate Abia State from the hands of evil men and women that have turned the state into their personal property.
