The One Nigeria Movement (ONM) has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State of allocating N4.8 billion monthly to Ikenga Ugochinyere, a House of Representatives member for Ideato North Federal Constituency in Imo State. In a statement released in Abuja, ONM’s Convener General, Ahmed Sodiq-Mugoro, and Secretary, Babatunde Aliyu, claimed that this sum is drawn from contributions by the state’s 23 local council chairmen and the governor himself.
The funds are purportedly designated as a ‘Political Development Fund’ for the Action Peoples Party (APP), under which current local council officials were elected. ONM urges the residents of Rivers State to hold Governor Fubara accountable for this alleged misallocation of state resources.
As of now, there has been no official response from Governor Fubara or Ikenga Ugochinyere regarding these allegations.
