Oba Danesi of South-Ibie has claimed that his removal as the traditional ruler is politically motivated. He asserted that the appointment of Umoru Inusa Umoru by the Edo State Government was a result of a petition alleging he did not support the government.
Speaking at a press conference, Danesi emphasized that he remains the legitimate ruler, stating, “No law or court has removed me.” He described the situation as “executive lawlessness” and mentioned that he has taken legal action to restrain the government and protect his rights. Danesi confirmed that an ex parte order has been granted to prevent further actions against him until the case is resolved. He urged the community to stay calm and disregard rumors about his status.
