The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has convened a closed-door meeting following the arrest of its National President, Joe Ajaero, by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Ajaero was detained at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport while en route to the UK for a Trade Union Congress event. The NLC has condemned the arrest, emphasizing its commitment to defending workers’ rights and calling for Ajaero’s immediate release.
The Congress also demands the end of harassment against labor leaders and protesters involved in the #EndBadGovernance rallies. The outcome of the meeting will be disclosed to the public once concluded.
