Olubadan Ibadanland OBA Owolabi urge APWECON to height cultural practices to globally recognize standard.

Says women play vital roles in the modern society

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, emphasized the critical role of women in social development, peace, and nation-building during the 2024 annual national and international convention of the Association of Professionals Wedding Engagement Coordinators at Lead City University.

Represented by a team of kabiyesi from different communities in Ibadanland, led by Alhaji Chief Kabiru Oleyemi Olajide, the Baale of Ayegun Oleyo community, he highlighted that women have been instrumental in societal progress and should be more actively involved in community affairs.

Alhaji Kabiru criticized past practices that marginalized women and stressed the importance of recognizing their contributions in contemporary society.

He commended the organization for preserving cultural heritage in event planning and urged them to adopt globally recognized standards.
