Crusoe Osagie, the media aide to former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, has criticized Governor Monday Okpebholo’s decision to probe Obaseki’s administration, describing it as a smokescreen to cover up Okpebholo’s incompetence. Osagie argued that Okpebholo’s government lacks a clear vision for the state’s development and is resorting to meaningless probes to distract from its inability to govern effectively.
He likened Okpebholo’s actions to a theatrical spectacle meant to deceive the people of Edo State. Osagie specifically criticized the formation of a 14-member State Assets Verification Committee, which will investigate Obaseki’s tenure, calling it part of a series of unproductive inquiries initiated by Okpebholo.
Osagie warned that the people of Edo State are wise and will not be misled by such tactics.
