Kola Ologbondiyan, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused Umar Damagum, the party’s acting National Chairman, of occupying the position illegally.
Ologbondiyan made these claims during an appearance on Arise TV’s Morning Show, citing that external forces are allegedly attempting to weaken the PDP by turning it into an arm of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He also highlighted internal tensions within the party, specifically regarding the position of National Chairman, which the North Central region of Nigeria believes should revert to them, as Damagum is from the Northeast. Ologbondiyan emphasized that despite Damagum’s tenure, his leadership is considered illegitimate by some factions within the party.
