The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a clarification regarding a court case in Rivers State, denying that it filed an appeal in relation to Suit No: PHC/2177/CS/2024. The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, emphasized that the party did not submit any appeal at the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division, contrary to reports.
The PDP’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, confirmed this stance, asserting that according to the party’s constitution, only the National Legal Adviser has the authority to handle legal matters on behalf of the PDP, including filing or engaging solicitors for cases.
Furthermore, the PDP had previously notified the public that no other party organ or official is authorized to initiate legal actions without explicit written consent from the National Legal Adviser.
The clarification comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings involving sacked local government chairmen in Rivers State, highlighting the PDP’s position on the matter and its adherence to internal legal protocols.
