Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has strongly criticized Adolphus Wabara, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, accusing him of being one of the key figures fueling the ongoing crisis in the PDP. Wike expressed his dissatisfaction with Wabara’s actions and suggested that if Wabara were his father, he would have disowned him due to his involvement in the party’s troubles.

During a media chat, Wike emphasized that PDP leaders were wrong in trying to remove Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and National Secretary Sam Anyanwu, despite clear court rulings. He reaffirmed the importance of respecting the party constitution and the rule of law. He criticized the party’s attempts to bypass established processes, calling out efforts to manipulate the situation, which he claimed would ultimately fail.

Wike also stressed the importance of focusing on resolving the party’s internal issues, particularly in relation to the upcoming convention. He urged that the convention should proceed as scheduled, to usher in a new executive and put an end to the ongoing crisis.
