The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially rejected the recent Edo State Governorship election results, claiming electoral malpractice.
Acting National Chairman Amb. Umar Damagum stated that the party believes the people voted for their candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, and called for INEC to address the alleged flaws in the process. He also accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of colluding with a compromised INEC and police to manipulate the election.
The APC’s candidate, Monday Okpebholo, won with 291,667 votes, while Ighodalo received 247,655 votes. The PDP plans to challenge the results in court
