Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has appealed to Minister Nyesom Wike to allow him to govern without interference. Fubara acknowledged the ongoing tension between them since he took office, emphasizing the need for unity and support for effective governance.
During an interview on Channels TV, Fubara stated that Wike, as a former governor, should recognize the importance of supporting the current administration rather than undermining it. He expressed a desire for collaboration, especially in light of challenges such as low oil production and local governance issues.
Fubara’s comments come after he successfully held local government elections without police presence, highlighting his determination to govern despite existing political strife. He urged all parties to set aside their differences for the betterment of the state, saving electoral battles for the future.
