The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that the death toll from the tragic tanker explosion at the Dikko Junction on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway has risen to 73, with many others in critical condition.
The explosion, which occurred on Saturday, involved a truck carrying petrol that lost control and caught fire. The police have warned against negligence and urged stricter adherence to road safety regulations.
Police The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed state commissioners to reinforce traffic enforcement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
