The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has announced the introduction of new standardised uniforms for Supernumerary Police (SPY) personnel.
During the unveiling in Abuja, Egbetokun mandated that all organisations employing SPY officers must adhere to these new uniform standards.
This move aims to enhance the professionalism and visibility of SPY officers and ensure their distinct identity within the Nigeria Police Force.
The new uniforms are part of broader efforts to prevent unauthorized production and distribution of police apparel. Additionally, all police training schools are directed to implement the new uniform issuance model for SPY personnel.
This initiative aligns with Section 21(7) of the Nigeria Police Act 2020, which formalizes the role and standards for SPY officers.
