The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has expressed profound sorrow over the deaths of two esteemed senior police officers: retired AIG Philip Sule Maku and CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara.
Retired AIG Philip Sule Maku, who served as Commissioner of Police in Bauchi and Ebonyi States and later as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in the ICT Department, passed away on August 23, 2024. CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara, who held various significant roles including DCP in the State Criminal Investigations Department, Lagos State, and Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, died on August 28 after a brief illness.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, conveyed that both officers were renowned for their dedication and integrity. Their contributions have left a lasting impact on the Nigeria Police Force and beyond. The IGP extended heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues, and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
