The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, recently called for improved peaceful coexistence between herders and farmers in the state.
Speaking in his office in Jalingo, during a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), he emphasized that dialogue and mutual understanding are key to ensuring sustainable development and economic stability.
Opara commended MACBAN for its willingness to collaborate with the police in maintaining peace, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He urged all stakeholders to join forces in resolving conflicts and fostering a secure environment for the state’s residents. The chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Ya’u Ibrahim Barewa, assured the police of their full support in promoting peaceful coexistence.
