President Tinubu Condemns Ethnic Threats, Sends Strong Warning To Promoters Of #IgboMustGo

Newsie Events:–

President Bola Tinubu on Sunday promised that those behind the call for Nigerians of South-East origin to leave the South-West will face strict legal consequences.

Newsie Events reported that a post from the X platform (formerly Twitter) account “Lagospaedia” recently promoted the hashtag “#IgboMustGo”, giving Igbos in Lagos State and other parts of the South-West a one-month ultimatum to return to the South-East.

This has caused unease among Igbo communities in Lagos and other South-Western areas.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disavowed the message, distancing himself and his administration from it, and has ordered security forces to investigate those responsible for the social media account.

In his Sunday address, President Tinubu declared that those behind the “IgboMustGo” campaign will face justice.

“To those who have exploited this situation to threaten any part of our country, be warned: The law will catch up with you. There is no place for ethnic bigotry or such threats in the Nigeria we aim to build,” he stated.
