The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the severe economic hardship in Nigeria, warning that failure to do so could jeopardize his chances for a second term and worsen the country’s situation.
In a statement by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele emphasized that the political landscape in 2027 will not be business as usual if the current crisis persists.
He stressed that Nigerians are suffering due to rising costs and that the only way for Tinubu to regain control is by reducing prices.
“The only way President Tinubu can get it right is by bringing down prices. There is so much hardship, and I don’t understand why people are not telling him the truth,” Ayodele stated.
He also criticized the increase in electricity tariffs and other taxes, arguing that many Nigerians can no longer afford basic necessities.
He noted that even those observing fasting struggle to break their fast with N1,000 as it is no longer enough to buy food.
Primate Ayodele urged those close to the president to be honest about the true state of the nation, warning that further economic strain will only escalate the crisis.
