Professor Nkereuwem Sunday Etukudoh, the Provost and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal College of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology, Jos, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, over the untimely passing of his wife, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno.
In his message of sympathy, Prof. Etukudoh described the late first lady as a remarkable figure who was a “pathfinder” to both her family and the women of Akwa Ibom State. He noted that, during her time as first lady, she played a pivotal role in empowering and uplifting women, particularly young women, in the state, encouraging them to engage in meaningful endeavors that contribute to their well-being and that of their families.
The Provost further commended Mrs. Patience Umo Eno’s dedication to her family and her role in supporting her husband’s leadership, highlighting her influence in the first year of his administration.
Prof. Etukudoh offered words of encouragement to Governor Umo Eno and his family, urging them to draw strength and solace from their Christian faith during this challenging time. He prayed that God would grant them comfort and courage as they navigate their grief.
In response, Governor Umo Eno expressed deep gratitude for Prof. Etukudoh’s thoughtful visit and kind words, emphasizing the importance of such support to him and his family as they mourn the loss of a beloved wife and mother.
