The redeem christian church of God has reportedly suspended Idowu IIuyomade, the senior pastor of the city of David ‘s parish located at Lagos Island.
The suspension by the governing council of the church over the weekend, is to last for a period of three months.
Newsieevents gathered that a panel of investigation has also been constituted for further investigation on allegations made against the suspended pastor IIuyomade and the city of David’s parish.
One of the ranking pastor’s in the church told Newsieevents that the decision was a response to the public outcry against the extravagant birthday party of his wife shortly after the death of the former CEO of Access bank, Herbert Wigwe.
We also gathered that IIuyomade who is also in charge of Apapa’s family in the RCCG, thrown up a mega jamboree birthday party in the united kingdom UK to marked his wife’s Siji IIuyomade 60th birthday in February 2024.
The birthday came shortly after the strategic incident, the sudden demise of the Access bank family on February 9th.
Newsieevents also learnt that the embattled pastor IIuyomade has been replaced with pastor Charles Kpandei of RCCG resurrection parish of region 11.
However, some top ranking members and leaders of the city of David’s parish are currently agitating for the permanent removal of pastor IIuyomade, they want him remove permanently, while awaiting the arrival of the new pastor Kpandei to resume
” We have just three months to the convention, it maybe a way of taking him a way completely. He has overstayed in the city of David’s parish and it’s time for him to go”
However, we have also been informed that the general overseer of RCCG, pastor Enoh Adeboye is not aware of IIuyomade’s suspension by the governing council of the church.
