A Rivers State High Court has issued an ex parte order to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, from holding elective congresses in Rivers State without including the claimants.

The order applies to both local government and state executive committees and any related congresses, pending the resolution of the main legal case.

The court specifically prohibited the APC from proceeding with congresses scheduled for November 23 and 30, 2024, or any other future dates. The injunction also prevents the recognition of results from a previous ward congress held on November 16, 2024.

The claimants, Okwu Joebrown-Ndike, Peace Oganu, and Samuel Uchegbule, allege they were denied access to nomination forms despite paying for them. The case is set for hearing on December 3, 2024.
