Seize, seal properties belonging to Bliss Multinational: EFCC set to appeal high court judgement in bayelsa.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) plans to appeal a recent court order issued by Justice Isa Dashen of the Federal High Court in Bayelsa State.

The order, which puts the EFCC’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, at risk of imprisonment, asserts that the EFCC unlawfully seized and sealed properties belonging to Bliss Multinational Perfection and Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited’s CEO, Oyinmiebi Bribena. The court ruled these properties were not proceeds of crime.

EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale expressed surprise at the ruling, stating the commission was not notified of the judgment date, which he argues constitutes a denial of fair hearing. He also highlighted that a previous decision involving similar issues is currently under appeal. The EFCC intends to appeal the recent judgment and reaffirms its commitment to the rule of law while asserting that it does not intend to disregard any court orders.
