Seven workers at Quantum Steels Nigeria Limited, located on Ikorodu-Sagamu Road, Ogijo, suffered various injuries following an explosion from one of the factory’s machines.
The injured, all male, include three expatriates: Daniel Bala (28), Mutiu Olajide (39), Godwin Solomon (27), Maduabuchi Onwe (27), Ajun Kumar (37), Chandan Kumar (50), and Rakash Kumar (30).
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday due to a machine blast.
Confirming the incident on Thursday, Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, stated that the report was filed at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday by Joseph Adewale, an employee of the company.

She added that the injured workers are receiving treatment at Rolayo Hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and are responding well.
The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion and are reviewing the company’s adherence to industrial safety regulations.
Officers have also inspected the scene, interviewed witnesses, and documented evidence.
Odutola urged companies to prioritize workplace safety and strictly follow safety protocols to prevent future incidents.
