Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has shed light on his ongoing conflict with Minister Nyesom Wike, attributing it to a struggle for power and control in the state. Since Fubara took office in 2023, tensions have escalated despite interventions from President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders.

In a recent interview on Channels TV, Fubara stated that the underlying issue is straightforward and relates to the political dynamics following elections in Rivers. He expressed concern about being singled out during discussions of the crisis, indicating that the matter is widely understood within the state.

Fubara emphasized that he has upheld all prior agreements but refrained from delving into specifics, highlighting the simplicity of the dispute while underscoring the broader implications of power struggles in the region.
