Uche Nnam Okwukwu, an activist lawyer from Rivers State, has been elected the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, succeeding in an unopposed election at the organization’s convention in Port-Harcourt.
Okwukwu, who was selected by delegates from across the Igbo nation, pledged to defend the interests of the Igbo people, advocate for the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, and push for the restructuring of Nigeria.
He also promised to unite the Igbo community and address key issues, such as the modernization of Igbo ports and the creation of new states to ensure the political and economic advancement of the region.
Okwukwu’s election marks a significant moment in Igbo leadership as he sets his priorities on advancing the Igbo cause both domestically and internationally.
