Agitations for the South East region of the country, the Igbos to produce the next president of Nigeria in 2023 is not for words but action and structures are beginning to put in place.
One of such structure is a courtesy visit tour being embarked upon by one of the formidable socio-political Organisations in the country known as GRASSROOTS ALLIANCE FOR IGBO PRESIDENCY IN 2023.
The visit in Uyo to His Royal Highness Eze, Dr Cyc Umeakuka jp at his palace lead by the state coordinator Coach Chris Ben recorded a positive response by the monarch.
Speaking at the familiarization visit the state publicity secretary of the group Mr. Kelvin Umoh extolled the immense contributions of the Igbo people to the growth and development of the country.
He said the Organisation is ready to resist any region in the country that will raise against the turn of the South East to produce the next president.
Also speaking, the secretary of the organization Mr. Bassey Willie called on the monarch to key into the vision by reasoning in the same direction with the Grassroots Alliance that a chance should be given to the South East of the country to produce a president in 2023.
Speaking in the same vein the state coordinator Mr. Chris Ben noted that with an Igbo man as the president of the country the dream of every young Nigerian will manifest because various sectors will come on board including business engagements.
He said the group is prepared to stand up against every force that will directly or indirectly oppose the stand of the masses and that the stand of the masses is for the Igbos to produce the next president.
Mr. Ben said the visit is to cut across all the traditional fathers especially in Igbo land to obtain their royal blessings for the battle they were about to involve and also informed him about the forthcoming National conference of the organization which will be hosted in Uyo the state capital.
In his response, the monarch His Royal Highness Eze Umeakuka promise to give 98 percent of his unflinching supports.
He said the moment was timely and good development not only to the people of the South East but to the Nation at large.
Eze Umeakuka assures that when the time ribs he will engage in mobilizing the Igbos in the state to attend the National Conference of the organization.
He called on the team to maintain the line and should not accept to be bought with money either pave the way for personal or selfish interest as the only way that can lead to the downfall of any young Organisation.
