Sunday 23rd February 2020 may have come and gone but the amazing reception ceremony organiised on behalf of Rev. & Mrs Benedict Egre the resident minister in charge of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria Nung Oku Ibesikpo, district headquarters Akwa Ibom State will never be forgotten in a hurry.
The reception ceremony which took place at the church district Headquarters recorded a huge success.
Ministering at the ceremony Rev. Isaac Obot commended the leadership of the district for coming together to receive the Reverend minister and his family.
Speaking on the topic ” the Mystery of God to human” a message derived from Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 17:1-9 and 2kings 4:11-17 explained that the secret of Christ was revealed the day he asked ” who do ye said ye that I am” he made it known that some persons have mistreated and maltreated pastors in a way that is uncalled for and sue for their repentance.
He said pastors are Messengers of God. it is important to love and respect them as God’s Representatives and doing so will attract God’s blessings.
Speaking, the Chairman of the central committee Preacher Nsikak Okon extolled the qualities of the man of God especially for reuniting the church against its collapsed condition.
He said the minister of God has created a lot of impact in the district headquarters and due to his performance, the population of the church has increased.
Also speaking was the Chairman of the church Elder Godwin Johnson acknowledge the efforts of the celebrants for the progress of the church building and expansion of the members. He called for total cooperation of the members.
Responding the celebrants Rev. Egre, thank God for his grace upon him and his family. He said initially on his arrival he was a bit discouraged considering the challenges that were facing the church and the language issues.
Rev Benedict Egre said his ministry has always been on a rescue mission “I never live in a well-furnished house owned or provided to me by my family, by the church, not that there has not been but I always reject because of the passion I have for my calling”
He said God had used him mightily to bring back the glory of the church, the church has regained his former glory he said. Speaking further, he said, ‘God has used me to do mighty things especially in multiplying and increasing the congregation, we thank God for his grace which leads to reconciliation.”
He prayed for more of God’s blessings and rewards to be bestowed upon members of the church for celebrating his effort.
The reception features, presentation of gifts, choir ministration, special number, Thanksgiving and lot more to receive the servant of God and his family.
