RED HOT ‘WAR’ IN OSOGBO: NYSC MEMBERS ENGAGE STUDENTS IN MATHEMATICS COMPETITION.- By CHRIS-DANIEL UCHENDU

Corps members of the Education Community Development Service set to ignite the fire in students as they set a Red hot Mathematics Quiz Competition in Osogbo.
The President, Yasir Abiola Sulaimon said “Our aim is to ensure that students no longer have the fear for mathematics. Over the four to five weeks, we’ve been going about sensitizing Schools on the Importance of Mathematics…”
Meanwhile, four schools  took the bold steps and were fully represented at the hot seat by their Students  are Osogbo Government High School, Saint Charles High School, Osogbo High School, and Ataoja Government High School.
Mrs. Ogunlade, Principal of Salvation Army Middle High School in her opening speech, commended the Corps members in Osogbo for organizing the Program. Mr. Kunle Abimbola, senior Technical officer at the department of industry, Ministry of Commerce, Osun state also supports the Move.
In the program which was also a Book lunch by the President of the Education CDS, titled; “Get to the Zenith” Mr. Kunle Commended Yasir Abiola for his innovation, patience and educative spirit for leading other Corps members right and recommended the book to everyone as it is a motivational book. He appreciated the efforts of the Corps members and said that “the competition is to develop the potential in students, and once you have determination you can get to your Zenith…” he concluded.
Osogbo High School took a bow out of the competition .  Osogbo Government High School was also eliminated leaving the Giants in the Battle. Saint Charles High School ably represented by an SS2 Student, Abdullateef Waliyulahi  who came second while Ataoja Government High School represented by an SS 3 student, Abiola Grace emerged the winner of the competition.
Finally, the President of the Community Development added, “always have time to discover yourself and, here’s an Expectation from a Mathematician; a mathematician mathematizes mathematics mathematically. If a mathematician can mathematize mathematics mathematically, Why can’t I mathematize mathematics mathematically like a mathematician who mathematizes mathematics mathematically…?” he concluded.
