Mr. Tony Iwelu, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Rotimi Amaechi, was allegedly found dead in a 5 Star hotel in Kaduna state just a few hours after the Amaechi denied there was a kidnapping attempt on the Minister.
According to Premium Times, the CSO died of electric shock in an undisclosed hotel in Kaduna.
The minister of Road and Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was allegedly in Kaduna two days ago with his entourage for El-Rufai’s 60th birthday.
Much later, reports emerged that the minister was attacked by kidnappers and bandits.
However, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, who claimed to have been with Rotimi Amaechi, denied the allegations.
Rotimi Amaechi also granted an interview where he debunked the rumours.
The news of Tony Iwelu’s death has raised further eyebrows by Aisha Yesufu, who started the rumor of the said attack.
The Presidency is yet to give an official report on Iwelu’s death, which may clear the air on the rumors making the rounds.
Hopefully, the management of the hotel will show up to the responsibility. More so, the government may sue for prosecution as well.
Nigerians are anticipating the official press release and the next course of action.
Tony Iwelu died in active service to his country. May his soul rest in peace.
